MRS. RASHIDA BELLO COMMENDS NOWA FOR ITS CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE SOCIETY.

Wife of the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Her Excellency, Mrs. Rashida Bello has commended Naval Officers’ Wives Association for their contributions towards improving the health of officer’s wives and other women and children in their communities, through health outreach programmes that has helped in improving the living condition of people within and outside the barracks.

Her Excellency, gave the commendation at Nigeria Naval Base, Banda, Lokoja today, during the inauguration of NOWA Kogi State chapter.
Where the officer’s wives distributed drugs dewormed school children,tested and gave out eye glasses to people and also distributed notebooks to school children.

NOWA ‘s major objective is to compliment the roles of officers in the barrack and also reach out to women, vulnerable, children and less privileged in the society.

Mrs Rashida Bello further extolled the laudable achievements made so far in women and youth empowerment by NOWA , stating that her office through Rashida Bello Foundation will be open to collaborate in programmes and businesses of women and youth empowerment, describing women and youths as the most vulnerable in the society.

In her address, the President of NOWA, Barr. (Mrs.) Theresa Ibas thanked the Governor’s wife for supporting the officer’s wives in their efforts to compliment their husbands and reach out to women and Children within and outside the Barracks.

She also called for more synergy between the Naval Officers’ Wives Association and the Rashida Bello Foundation in order to improve on the lives of the vulnerables in the society.

Dignitaries at the event were the Wife of the Deputy Governor , Mrs. Ejura Mercy Onoja, Secretary to Kogi State Government Dr.Folashade Ayooade,State Security Adviser, Comdr.Omodara rtd. Newly inaugurated NOWA Zonal Coordinator Kogi State Chapter, Mrs. Rhoda Olotu, Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Tijani, NOWA Members and other government functionaries.
