Kogi State has demonstrated determination to tackle the hydra-headed challenge of erosion and flooding in Lokoja, the State Capital.
The Hon. Commissioner for Works and his Team, alongside the Project Coordinator, Kogi State NEWMAP, paid assessment visit to the Jakura Marble Industry culvert, along Kpata Market Road, behind the Ministry of Works, Lokoja, where there is budding gully threat, which if not nipped in the bud, could prove a menace in the nearest foreseeable future. The visit is part of ongoing effort by the State Ministry of Works, to prevent imminent danger being posed by forming gully.
This collaboration was reiterated by the Hon. Commissioner for Works, Alh. Ohere, who assured the people of the State of Government determination to ensure environment friendly state with the resolve to tackle head-on, the menace of gully erosion in Lokoja, as well as other vulnerable parts of the State.
