In life we do things. Some we wish we had never done. Some we wish we could replay a million times in our heads but they all make us who we are, and in the end they shape every detail about us. If we were to reverse any of them we wouldn’t be the person we are so just live, make mistakes, have wonderful memories, but never ever second guess who you are, where you have been, and most importantly where it is you’re going.

Honourable John M Abah Late was a man of unsual maturity, calm disposition, humility, soft-spokeness and his wise contribution has helped in no small measure to add lasting value to the 6th and 7th assembly where he served in various capacity.

His Excellency, the executive Governor of Kogi State recalls that during the distractions that erupted from 2016 to 2017 in the last assembly, late John M Abah was a major stabilizing factor during those trying times.

His Excellency also recalls with gladness that even in his trying moments during his health challenges he was fully available for contributions in many ways to the November 16th election that ushered us into another tenure.

Human cycle is in four stages. The birth stage which we have no choice of and then the living stage- where we can choose between good and evil. Then we pass on and return to our maker.

We are certain that death will come but when and how, we do not know. After that it will become a personal answer of our sojourn here on earth before our maker to ascertain our final and eternal destination.

As we listen today as individuals let bear in our minds these four stages of life. Our prayer is that when our time here is over and out may our accounts be in positive credit balance so we can get our alerts of eternal rest in paradise.

To the assembly members and colleagues of our late brother where he put in the his last five years of his life in service, accept his Excellency’s and the executive arm of Government’s condolences.

To his family especially his children continue with your Dad’s legacy, he’s gone to a better place than here.To the Ibaji people, may his departure unite and spur you into greater peace, development and oneness.

For the rest of us and the entire Kogi State may we strive to do more for our people whilst we are still breathing.

Distinguish honourable John M Abah Late, may your gentle soul rest in perfect peace.

Rest on till we meet to part no more. Thank you.
