Kogi State ministry of Transport is set to begin appropriate sanctions on traffick offenders in the state and its environs.
The honourable commissioner of Transport, Mr Joseph Okwoli made the statement when he met with the management and staff of the Ministry to chart a new way forward.
Honourable Okwoli who decried the unending disobedience to traffic rules by commuters,especially in Lokoja metropolis, said there is an urgent need to sanitise and decongest the state capital.
He pointed out that, the executive governor of kogi state had given a marching order for the state to be sanitised and the Ministry of transport will take the lead.
Honourable Okwoli noted that,there will be no more loiteries and incessant parking of vehicles on the road,adding that, the Terminus Park along Felele road will be resuscitated and neccesary amenities will be put in place for all vehicles to be parked in there.
He said this will help in proper monitoring of vehicles and ensure safety of lives and properties of travellers.
He called on the management and staff of the ministry to maintain the highest level of discipline and ensure that there is synergy in various departments so as to achieve the set goals.
