KOGI, SOON TO BE APIARY FOR TOURISTS ACTIVITIES – HON. ISAH IDACHABA

Kogi State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Isah Salifu Idachaba has reiterated the Government’s commitment to make Kogi State a destination for Tourists in line with the New Direction Blueprint of His Excellency Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello.
The vibrant Commissioner revealed this during his first phase tour round some notable tourist sites in the State. According to him, the essence of the tour was to see first-hand, the state of the tourist sites under the care of the State Government so as to be able to decide the ones to be developed and revived more in order to make Kogi state a beehive for tourists activity.
The Commissioner appreciated His Excellency, Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello for his will to carry every sector along in bringing the Let’s do more agenda to fruition.
Accompanied by the Acting Director of tourism. Alh. Tanko Inuwa, the Acting Director of Culture Mr.Chris Yakubu, Acting Director of Hotels and corporate service, Mrs. Ocheni C. Afor and some staff, the Commissioner visited the first Hospital in Northern Nigeria which is now the Kogi state council for Arts and culture, the site presently hosts the staff quarters of the first hospital in northern Nigeria, the mortuary and the wards, the troop’s theater, the traditional weaving machine as well as the state Cultural band.
Other sites visited include one of the Lord Lugard’s Senior Staff quarters now hosting the Kogi State Hotel and Tourism board where arriving Tourist are expected to get first-hand information of the state; the Lord Lugards Rest house at Mount Patti which also serve as the spot from which Ms. Flora Shaw looked down and coined the name Nigeria.
Earlier. Alh. Tanko Inuwa the Acting Director of tourism noted that Tourism is a money spinner in today’s world and would help to foster the growth of the economy of any nation. He congratulated the governor for the initiative to step up the economy through Tourism, stressing that a lot can be done for co Ammerce by developing these sites.
