KOGI LEADS IN TOURIST POTENTIALS.

Kogi state has the highest concentration of historical lerics and monument than any other state in Nigeria.
The honourable commissioner for culture and tourism, hon. Salifu Isah idachaba gave this hints while going round some of the tourism monument located within lokoja metropolis.
Hon. Idachaba who stressed on the need to improve the site and make it look attractive also called on the state government to assist the ministry to sustain the lerics.
He added that a lot of the state potentials like hotel needs to be put in proper shape as this would help to generate revenue for the state and save the cost of state spending money on accommodation and renting of halls for programs.
The commissioner further declared that the state is lying on golden treasure that is yet to be utilized adding that the potential if properly harnessed would bring investors into the state
Also speaking, the permanent secretary of the ministry, mallam Okeme Jibrin stated that some of the dilapidated building could be renovated into shops for business that could speed up the state revenue generation.
Mallam Okeme also reiterated on the need to alert security men to help the ministry to take care of some of the site and discourage hoodlums operation.
Some of the management team who went on inspection with the commissioner include, the permanent secretary, mallam Okeme jibrin, Alh. Inuwa Tanko, Ag Dir. Tourism, Eld. Chris Yakubu Ag. Dir.culture, Mrs. Christiana ocheni, Ag. Dir. Hotels and corporate service, Mr. Amaga Ibrahim Ag. Dir. Acct.
