As part of effort’s towards the total eradication of cultism in Kogi State, the State Government through the Ministry of Culture and Tourism has packaged a drama piece to curb the menace in various institutions of learning within the state.
The Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon Salifu Isah Idachaba stated this during a visit to the Council for Art’s and Culture office Lokoja.
Hon. Idachaba who said that the practice of Cultism in Institutions has really affected the academic performance of students which also resulted into early death of our youths.
He lamented that this practice has continued to hindered the growth of our society and added that this youths have great potentials that would have contributed to the development of the state and Nigeria at large.
The Commissioner lauded their previous performance that has earned the State the glory of representing Nigeria in diaspora.
Earlier in his remarks,the Director of Performing Art’s, Pastor Joseph Dan Itodo assured the Commissioner that the group would put in their best to make Kogi proud in the forthcoming Abuja National carnival.
Pastor Itodo said the drama piece is intended to be staged across the state tertiary and higher institutions of learning.
