Kogi State Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Hon. Asiwaju idris has assured the people of kabba that govt will continue to embark Programs and Projects that will be of direct benefit to them.
The commissioner stated this during the stakeholders town hall meeting on 2021 budget in kabba.
He said the meeting has become imperative because of the importance attached to it by the present administration adding that the aim is to ensure that stakeholders views and contributions are included in the budget formulation
While admitting the negative impacts of the covid 19 impacts on the state economy, the commissioner said the parts of the stpes taken by the present administration is to review the 2020 budget.
He called on the people of the area to continue to support the present administration to enable him deliver on his promises.
In his presentation at the program, the SFTAS Coordinator Mr Bayode Ebenezer said part of the benefits of stakeholder’s engagement in budget process is increasingly becoming a part of governance particularly in the state and being used to improve communications, obtain wider community support or buy -in for projects.
He said it also help citizens monitor what the government is doing for the purpose of accountability and transparency
Describing the program as a two way information system, mr Bayode said it will help govt get more information about the needs of the people as well as create awareness of government’s program for the people.
Earlier the Commissioner paid homage to the palace of the obaro of Kabba, Oba Dele Owoniyi where he assured them of the government’s commitment to the welfare of its people.
The Obaro Of Kabba used the opportunity to congratulate the gov on his recent victory at the supreme court and said it is an affirmation that the wishes of the people prevailed.
He also appealed for the grading of the road that leads to the palace as well as other roads in the community.
