Kogi State Government has promised to always promote cultural affinity among the diverse ethnic group’s in the State by ensuring that the rich and diverse culture are sustained and protected.
The Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Salifu Isah Idachaba stated this a speech he presented to mark this year(2020 World Cultural Day celebration held in his office.
Hon. Idachaba stated that the United Nation Assembly proclaimed in 2001 November 21st as World Cultural Day to help the nation understand the value of cultural diversity to promote love among nations.
He noted that the idea is to preserved a promising future and protect the local cultures and traditional distinction from possible encroachment of harmful foreign culture.
The Culture boss also stressed that the New Director Agenda of EBIGO (Ebira, Igala Okun) concept became necessary towards harmonising the tribal identical fabric into a unifying state colour that would give the States identity at national and international appearance adding that this world boost weaving potentials of the state council for Art’s and culture.
He then appreciated His Excellency ,Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello for his support towards making the programm a success and for lifting the ban on popular Igala osho festival.
