The Government of Kogi State has reiterated it’s commitment to the continual Revitalization of the Agricultural sector towards the upliftment of the well being of the people, and a secure future for the upcoming generations.

The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barr. Salami Momodu Ozigi made this known during the Official flag-off ceremony of the distribution of 100 tractors and educational materials to the 21 Local Government Areas of the State in Lokoja yesterday by the
Governor of the State, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.

The Commissioner attributed the unprecedented initiative to the Administration’s quest to identify the fundamental factors that will accelerate the socioeconomic development of the State and put the factors in motion, describing it as a major agricultural revolution that has the capacity to guarantee food security of the State in particular, and food sufficiency of the nation in general.

Barr Ozigi expressed belief that as a result of the distribution of educational materials to public primary schools and pupils, the hope of the common man under the leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello, is rekindled that even the poor can have access to quality education.

While commending Governor Yahaya Bello for his Administrative style, Barr Ozigi noted that adopting all inclusive governance has encouraged the harnessing and mobilization of resources by the 21 Local Government Areas to procure tractors and educational materials distributed.

He admonished the beneficiaries to sustain the initiative through effective and efficient maintenance culture and accountability, pledging the readiness of his Office in collaboration with the Office of the Auditor-General for Local Governments to ensure value for money in the use of the facilities through adequate supervision.
