The Okebukun community has expressed their deep appreciation to His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello for the appointment of their illustrious son Hon. Wemi Jones, as the commissioner for Education Science and Technology in the new cabinet.

The Olu of Okebukun Chief Omonile Timothy (JP) today 10th February, 2020 led some Chiefs of the community, the Executives of Okebukun Development Association and some prominent sons of the area on a congratulatory visit to the Commissioner for Education in his office in Lokoja.

Receiving them, the Commissioner for Education Science and Technology Hon. Wemi Jones expressed his gratitude to the community leaders for taking the pains to come to Lokoja in appreciation of what the Governor has done to the community through his appointment.

The Commissioner who urged members of the community to continually pray for the Governor and his cabinet in the task of piloting the affairs of the state.

He also appealed to them to pray for him to discharge his responsibilities effectively.

Hon. Jones also used the opportunity to thank the community for their support for the Governor as well as his political aspiration over the years which culminated into his present position in the cabinet of the Governor Yahaya Bello.

According to him, all their request are well known to him pointing out that the Governor has commenced his second tenure with renewed vigor to do more for the people of Kogi state especially in the Education sector.

He solicited for the people’s support in the area of quality advice to move the ministry to a greater height in line with the vision of the Governor.

In his remark earlier, Chief Omonile Timothy (JP) assured the Governor of their continued support and loyalty of the Okebukun people for his Administration to succeed.

The Olu described the appointment of their illustrious son Commissioner as a step in the right direction and that he will not betray the confidence bestowed on him by the Governor.

He expressed his gratitude to the Governor for extending dividend of Democracy to the area in his first tenure particularly the face lift of the Primary Health Care Clinic, building of blocks for classrooms at Okebukun Primary School among others.

The traditional ruler appealed for the extension of the same gesture in the second tenure of the Governor in the area of face lift of the Okebukun High School as well as the provision of Science equipment and Science Teachers to the Schools.
