Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Evang. Kingsley Fanwo has felicilitated with Muslims on the celebration of Id-el-kabir.
A goodwill message from the commissioner to the Kogi people said they should rejoice that they are alive to witness yet another festival of sacrifice and to thank God who in His infinite mercies has continued to keep them.
He enjoined them to measure their faith by the sacrificial life of Prophet Ibrahim who was in total submission unto Allah; charging them to be of contrite heart and spirit.
Fanwo condemned the recent attack and killings in Agbudu community of the state; saying such inhumanity called for sober reflection. He urged the people to use the occasion to pray for lasting peace in the state.
He prayed that God would accept the Id-el-kabir sacrifice, hear the people’s supplication and heal the land.
He also admonished the people to adhere strictly to infectious disease preventive measures as they celebrate in accordance with the law of the land, maintaining peace and order.
While reiterating the commitment of Governor Bello to the complete well-being of the people, Fanwo pledged that the present administration would do more to lift the state higher.
