Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has promised to be more committed to good governance as that is the only way dividend of democracy can be achieved in the State.
He made the promise immediately after being sworn in for the second term in office as the Governor of Kogi State.
He stated that in his first term, he started off by developing a well drafted plan, New Direction Blueprint, which will act as a road map for accelerated development of Kogi State.
He stressed that the plan has helped to provide guidance which in turn aided the administration to focus on 7 key thematic areas, such as Education, Health, Infrastructure, Job creation, Civil Service Reform, Agriculture and Security.
Speaking on Agriculture, the Governor revealed that in addition to the State-owned Rice mill at Ejigba, he will also work to see more Rice mill built by private capital in the State.
He also gave assurances that his administration is committed to increase land under cultivation with rice and facility take-off agreement for local growers adding that he will make confluence Rice the dominant brand, at least in the home market.
The Governor and his Deputy Chief Edward David Onoja were today sworn in by the State Chief Judge, Justice Nasir Ajana (CON) at the Glass House, Government House Lokoja.
