The Executive Governor of Kogi State,His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello restates government commitment towards peaceful co-existence of the people in the state.
The Governor made this known today when he received members of Action Aid Nigeria and Participation Initiative For Behavioural Change in Development in Government House.
The Governor was represented by the Hon. Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development,Hon Idris Musa at the occasion of this year Global Peace Day Celebration with the Theme “Together For Peace”.
The Commissioner received members of Action Aid Nigeria and PIBCID during a peace walk to commemorate 2020 Global Peace Day.
Idris Musa appreciated the effort of Action Aid and PIBCID at promoting Peace in the state, saying without peace there will be no development,he further adviced the youth to cultivate the habit of living in peace with one another.
The commissioner said the EBIGO Agenda is part of government effort at promoting Peace in the state.
Earlier,the Executive Director, Participation Initiative For Behavioural Change in Development, Halima Oyiza Sadiq congratulated the youth and the people of Kogi State for coming out to celebrate this year Global Peace Day saying if there is no peace,no Education.
Halima Sadiq used the opportunity to demand for speedy implimentation and operationalization of Kogi State Youth Development Law.
In his closing remark, the coordinator Action Aid Nigeria Kogi State,Mr Friday Ogezi, thanked the government for its effort at maintaining peace in Kogi State.
