He said: “We are here today to commend you for the good job you are doing for our rural farmers. It is our responsibility to inform rural farmers of your programs and afford them the opportunity of latching on the benefits offered by ADP.

“We are impressed by what we have seen here. Doing More is not just a statement but an attitude of the New Direction Government.
“Information is power. Our presence here will beam the activities of ADP to the world and by so doing, our people will see the Project as a partner in progress. We have no oil fields but we have arable lands that has positioned us as the number one producer of Cassava and Cashew in Nigeria.

“We also want to inform investors around the world that Kogi is the home of agriculture. Our state is safe for all year round farming and with our rice mill at Ejiba, we have ready off takers for most of the agricultural produce from the State”.

The Commissioner said with the approval of the facility for the Kogi State Agricultural Modernization Project, “the State is set to provide a viable platform for agricultural investors to turn the state to the food hub of Africa”.

Speaking also during the visit, the MD of Kogi ADP, Mr Bello Ogrima George said the State Government has been supportive of the Project. He said ADP is set work with the State Ministry of Agriculture to achieve the dreams of Governor Yahaya Bello in turning Kogi to Nigeria’s food basket.

The facilities inspected at the ADP are the Fish Pond, Rice Mill,Feeds Mill and others.
