Following the recently launched Confluence Business Directory online platform by Governor Yahaya Bello of kogi State. The State Commissioner of Information and Communications, Hon Kingsley Fanwo has set up a committee to sensitised Kogi State indigenes on the Business Directory with the task of mobilise them to key into the project.
The Commissioner who disclosed this at a management meeting of the Ministry, said the committee would be known as the CBD team with the Director, Digital and Printing Services Mr Ebenezer Adurodija as the Chairman.
Other committee includes the Director-General, Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation, Alhaji Ojo Oyila, Managing Director, Kogi State Newspaper Corporation, Pastor Dayo Thomas, and the Ministry’s Director of Research Planning and Documentation, Mrs Fati Sanni with Mr Richard Alabi as Secretary.
The committee has as members, representatives from Kogi State Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, National Association of Small Scale Enterprises and that of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
The Committee would have interface with various stakeholders as well as come up with sensitisation gamut.
According to the Commissioner, the Confluence Business Directory is an online business directory designed by the Ministry to turn around the State digital economy sub sector.
He disclosed that it would expose small business owners in the state to the world through ICT and will provide information about specific businesses such as the name, address, contact information, associations, and the services and products offered.
He also pointed out that the directory would ensure that there is a balance between professional advertising, value for money and quality of service, while business owners would have access to huge return on investment (ROI) due
He listed other benefits of the platform to include an enhanced online presence for businesses; improvement of their local visibility as well as brand awareness
He disclosed that the platform would be provided for free within next three months and that the listing fee would be as low as N200.00 per months.
