Political office holders in Kogi State have been urged to build on the foundation of the new egalitarian state established by Governor Yahaya Bello.
The Commissioner of Information and Communication, Evang. Kingsley Fanwo gave the admonition when representatives of the immediate past political office holders in the state paid him a courtesy visit in his office.
Fanwo who described government as a continuum, said the starting point for the new emerging Kogi State was the removal of class distinction by Alhaji Yahaya Bello and admonished politicians to ensure the continuity of the process.
He said those who held political offices during the first tenure of the present administration and are not in the mainstream now should consider the time lag as a bridging gap towards rendering greater services to the state.
Fanwo said they should sustain the tempo of selfless service they had imbibed while in public service and to continue upholding the tenets of the government they had served.
He urged them to prepare for higher responsibilities ahead, as they would always remain relevant in the programmes and the entire polity of the state.
The Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Mr. Peter Ojo Stephen said the visit of the past political Office holders to the ministry portrayed the oneness and brotherliness exemplified in the leadership style of the present administration in the state.
He assured the group of the full support of the ministry in realising their good intents for the state.

Earlier, the chairman of the forum Hon. Akoh Adaidu, former Special Adviser to Governor Bello on Special Duties said the purpose of the visit was to felicitate with the Governor on his second term bid and to congratulate Evang. Fanwo on his appointment as the commissioner for the ministry.
He said members of his group would avail the state government of their services whenever called upon to do so.
