Kogi Gets Four New Judges

Ahead of the scheduled local government elections, the Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission (KOSIEC) has issued notice of elections to all citizenry in the state in accordance with the constitution provisions for the conduct of local government elections.

 

The Chairman of KOSIEC, Hon. Mamman Nda Eri gave the notice today, Monday 23 November, at a Press Conference in Lokoja, the state capital.

 

Hon. Nda Eri disclosed that the accreditation and voting shall be conducted simultaneously and shall commence by 8: 00am on the 12th of December 2020 and close at 3: 00pm on the same day to give room for collation of results.

 

While reacting to questions from newsmen, the Chairman explained that card readers would not be used for the elections as it is not part of the guidelines for the election.

 

He started that election results would be announced at the ward and local government areas in accordance with electoral guidelines.

 

Hon. Eri revealed that movements shall be restricted except for those on enssential and electoral duties;

noting that markets, shops and other business areas shall remain closed within the stipulated election period.
