ACCOUNTABILITY AND TRANSPAENCY IN GOVERNANCE MY KEY FOCUS: GOV BELLO

The Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello has reavealed his intention to be more transparent and accountable in governance.
The Governor made this known at the Government House Lokoja yesterday while addressing members of his cabinet on need to be transparent and accountable in their stewardship.
In his word, ‘’ I decided to allow the press cover this particular session and if it is possible, moving forward we might allow the press to cover our proceedings’’
He noted that, this is in line with his openness, transparency and accountability in governance, stressing that nothing we are doing here is in secret but to serve the good people of Kogi State.
According to him, Government will sanction any organisation or individual that violates Government anti-corruption policies.
In his drive for good governance, His Execllency ordered the state’s Auditor General Alhaji Yakub Okala to conduct an independent audit of the State Specialist Hospital, Kogi State University and other institutions that have purportedly refused to comply with the directive on Single Treasury Account (TSA).
